ETA Tourist Visa Category
The full name of ETA is Electronic Travel Authorization. It is a document that visa-exempt foreign nationals must obtain before entering Canada by air.
However, travelers entering Canada by sea or land are not required to hold an eTA.
Notes Before Application:
Hong Kong residents holding a Special Administrative Region (SAR) passport or a British National (Overseas) (BNO) passport are required to apply for an eTA.
After the eTA comes into effect on March 15th, students and temporary workers (from countries whose citizens are required to hold an eTA) must obtain an eTA. Even if they obtained a student visa or work visa before August 1st, 2015, they still need to get an eTA before planning to enter or leave Canada by air.
Canadian permanent residents do not need to hold an eTA when entering Canada by air, but they must still hold a Canadian Permanent Resident Card for entry. Otherwise, they may not be allowed to board the plane to Canada.
U.S. permanent residents are required to hold an eTA (as well as a U.S. Green Card) when entering Canada by air. However, they do not need an eTA if entering Canada by land or sea.

Confirmation of Applicant Eligibility
The applicant must hold a passport from a country eligible for ETA application.
The validity period of an ETA is up to 5 years, or until the expiration date of the passport—whichever comes first.
The applicant’s purpose of entry into Canada must be for tourism or business visits.
Generally, tourists may stay in Canada for a maximum of 6 months. The final duration of stay in Canada is determined by the immigration officer at the port of entry.
Please note:
Canada visa authorities reserve the right to suspend the processing of your ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) and initiate a review process, which means you are required to provide additional supporting documents for the visa application. The applicant may choose between the following options:
1) Contact us at (852) 2153 3995 and we will handle the review process on your behalf. Our company charges an agency fee of HKD 800. (Please note that completing the visa review process does not guarantee visa approval, and the fee is non-refundable.)
2) You may also handle the visa review process on your own. For details, please refer to the following website of the visa authorities.
